A Sense Of Place.

Gower

The UKs first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2006

The Gower Peninsula, west of Swansea, was the first 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' to be designated in Britain. The 19 mile long Peninsula has 34 miles of coastline, still unspoilt and truly spectacular. An abundance of flora and fauna make Gower a very special place, common land, moor, marsh as well as the renowned beaches and bays. Many of the areas are protected as Nature Reserves and the National Trust has responsibility for the conservation of many of the dramatic landscapes including Rhossili’s extraordinary Downs and magnificent sweep of beach.
