Secret Writing, Hidden Faces
Secret Writing, Hidden Faces brings together 20th century works on loan from Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales, shown in the context of the collection of the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery in Swansea.
This display links the selected works in unexpected ways, and includes well-known British artists, for example Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth, side by side with European artists such as Willi Baumeister and Karel Appel, together with Craigie Aitchison, Harry Holland, Peter Kinley, Lucian Freud, Eduardo Paolozzi and Tom Phillips, amongst others.
The project forms part of Celf Cymru Gyfan - Artshare Wales, Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales’ visual art partnership scheme, which is generously supported by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
Secret Writing, Hidden Faces is curated and has an accompanying text by David Fraser Jenkins.
